This last summer and fall I have been shooting most of the stuff here with my Sony Ericsson X10 Mini and sure it works OK but with some cash burning a hole in my pocket I started looking for a better camera, after checking out Samsung NX100 & 200, Sony NEX-3, 5 & 7, Olympus and other compact SLR's I decided on the new Nikon 1-series, J1, small, heavy, solid and with a minimalist look no one beats....

Today the DP Race Tech Workshop got the last coat of paint, after insulating, paneling, painting and installing a heater/AC unit the workshop is finally winter workable. My Dear K's been in charge of painting, good friend and master carpenter H.J did the woodwork while I was running around like a chicken without a head pointing and making changes. Now the Chopper Place cigarr room is next in line after the bathroom is done, can't wait to enjoy a Cohiba with a good dark Cuban Rum....

Classic Motor swap meet....

On Saturday me and my Dear K went to the twice yearly Classic Motor Magazine swap meet, this time moved to a new local at the ABB Arena Västerås, big and fresh and to the brim filled with bikes, toys, mopeds, parts, cars, tractors and even some junk here and there. Some of the stuff that caught my eye was a Laverda moped with disc brakes front & rear, vintage Seedway Bike for 100K, a Ferguson Grålle chassi restored to brand new, a clean Suzuki K50 (exactly like my first moped), but what really got to me was an old rusty tractor but I controled myself and came home with two cool Marshal fog lights for the Volvo T21 and some junk. On February 16'th is next time and we'll be there....

Yeah believe it or not but she's alive n kickin', just the other day the good guys at Hard Parts sent a brand new Mivv Titanium pipe my way, light ohhh it's so light and hard looking, now The Indian Guru will do his pipe bending & welding magic and it will all line up, I can't wait to hear her roar! I have also fitted a Sportster headlight and "cap" so i can bin that god awefull Ducati satelite dish they call headlight....

This last week in Milano was the yearly EICMA MC Show where (almost) all the news for 2012 was rolled out, As an Aprilia, Moto Guzzi & Vespa dealer, a Ducati owner and an Italiophile in general there were a lot to Ohhh & Ahhh over but some of the best stuff IMHO were the 3 new Guzzi, the awesome SRV 850 scooter from Aprilia (can't wait to get my hands on that one), the Ducati 1199 & MV Agusta F3 are gorgeous bikes but #1 on my wishlist to Santa this year is the Vespa 46, wow what a looker.....

Today me and my Dear K visited a man with some interesting stuff he did not need anymore. The old man graciously let us take custody of this almost untouched, early 70's Vespa V50 in daily driver condition, a new set of tires and an oil change and we'll hit the road on it next spring. Now Lucy and Tomaten has a new sister, yet to be named.....

Artist, Hot Rod legend and friend Staffan Runhag has silently passed away, I guess he's in Hot Rod Heaven arguing Old School versus Billet with Boyd Coddington. Staffan has created some of the most influential Hot Rods in Sweden, the 36 Ford is my all time favorite....

This weekend good friend HJ, master carpenter & owner of a cool stripper Hayabusa came by with all his tools and lumber to do some finishing work on the ol' dp race tech shop. My dear K followed our paneling work with a fresh coat of Falu Rödfärg and voila, it looks good. Even the birdies get some cool new digs when they come back next spring...

This year Wheels Nats & Stockholm Cruise has been moved upp 2 weeks to get a chance of good wealther and not to hit the same weekend as Mälaren Runt. Me and K loaded up Diesel Doris drove down to Stockhlom and parked alongside Sveavägen, we ha a late lunch sallad and later on some Indian food for dinner, all while watching 20.000 + people having a great day and evening of cars, rods, vans, bikes, mopeds, burnt rubber and booze....

Svenska Nationaldagen 6 Juni was as usual spent at Strul MCC for their annual Indian Swap Meet. I rode in on K's Curry-Enfield and got to try out my new DMD Helmet (thanx Vartex)...

A bunch of cool stuff was 4 sale although I did not buy that much....

A bunch of nice bikes were also there....

After that it was of to Max to check out the progress of his 572 Chevy, 400 TCI, 9" Ford stuffed 34 3 window coupe and believe me it looks awesome, can't wait to hear it roar....

Finally it was off back home to Mosta Hill and a nice laid back barbecue with family & friends....

Today I ran into the winner of the other ticket to Sturgis, fellow Svenska Ducati Klubben member and bike builder Lasse Sundberg that won with his awesome almost 80 year old Husqvarna....

Finally, the first Tussilago at Mosta Hill...
This last weekend me and my dear K went to welcome her oldest son, his girlfriend and two girls to their new house at beautiful Hormesta Gård not far from Mosta Hill. The weather could not have been better, a sunny warm spring day, we had Hot Dogs, cheesecake and beer and E shot pictures like a pro....K's sister and her boyfriend came by on their first ride of spring..
Even the neigbours dog came over to check out what might have fallen off the grill...

Another sign spring is here, tjällossning that makes country roads look like we had an earthquake. Sure it's nice to see the snow go away but some of my favorite riding roads get ruined by spring, soon some truck will come out an fill in the cracks with gravel and the road is ruined from a biker standpoint...

On Friday we got another (and hopefully the last) 5cm of snow at Mosta Hill but both Saturday & Sunday were warm sunny early spring days and today me and K just sat in a chair enjoying the warm sun on our faces, looking at the snow melting and stuff coming out from their white covers, the boat, the tractor and the wagon. We grilled Hot Dogs over open fire, with brie cheese and beer it was a perfect lunch for a great day....

I found this Smaller in Texas house/container and can not get it of my mind, I need some more space at Mosta Hill so me and K can spend more time together without going crazy, the thought that a cool looking rusty on the outside container can be a nice space to hang is really appealing to me, it all fits in with my shine can never replace attitude way of living, it feels soooo right....

Last Friday I got Diesel Doris back from the body shop, the insurance co has finally fixed the parking oops I had last May! now she awaits striping and decaling as a faux Fiat Scudo Abarth, pix soon. Checking out all the news at The Geneva Motor Show I fell for this puppy, The VW Bulli Concept, it looks soo Type 1, with a suede paint, slammed on air and 17" Fuchs, BRM or Radar rims it would rock, if VW then decides to go with a diesel/electric hybrid I would trade Diesel Doris for one....

Saab PhoeniX...

Today at the Geneva Motor Show Saab showed what a Saab will look like after leaving GM behind. The Saab PhoeniX Concept, btw. why do they have to spell Phoenix with a capital X at the end, it feels so "we'r the Facebook generation and we'll shove it in ya face". The PhoeniX is to me the coolest car from Sweden since the P1800 and mk2 Sonett. The PhoeniX looks Saab, it's not totally unbildable and now I hope the coming 9.3 will look somewhat like the PhoeniX, be available with a hybrid driveline and Saab why not a PhoeniX Speedster? Last Saab I owned was a white 1991 900 Aero Turbo Convetible in Los Angeles, I really liked that car but it was traded for a Volvo 242 GT stuffed with a 350 Chevy....

All weekend the thermometer has been hoovering around 0 and the snow has slowly started to melt away, I bet we get another cold spell but there's light at the end of the tunnel, spring is around the corner. And what's more usefull during the summer months than a caravan? I have for years made fun of people driving around with Tattartermosar, Carvan Club types but after seeing this thing at Just a Car Guy's Blog, I want one, that's one of the coolest things in a long time....

Some 25 years ago during my exile in So Cal I spent a couple of years working as an assistant to a photographer/surfer/skateboarder/artist/renaissance man who's business card read Kyle Martin Studios. It all started out in a studio in the old Post Office in Venice Beach then we moved the studio to Sweetzer Ave in West Hollywood, up the street from Harry Langdon's. During the years Kyle did some amazing work, the pix above are just a few of what I worked with him on, he worked for Details, Vouge, Harpers and other fashion mags, we shot covers for videos and a bunch of art stuff, we had a Hollywood style art show at Carlos & Charlies on Sunset. There were some great times, spending nights in bars and clubs, hanging at Nudes on Sunset, The Viper Room, Le Dome, Roxy, The Troubadour, eating at favorite places like Erehwon, Sushi on Sunset, Hama Sushi in Venice, The Ivy and chillin' at The Wedge and The River Jetty in Orange County. There was an Entourage that makes the TV show look like day care, modells, movie people, surfers, artists, you name it. We also rode bikes, Kyle had a beater GSXR something, green if I remember right, man we had some great times...

Last week at the Stockholm Motorcycle Show I saw and decided that my next bike would be a 2011 Ducati Diavel Carbon, sure the Harely V-Rod is THE power cruiser to have, Porsche design, Getrag gearbox but a heavy iron, the Ducati with 170bhp and 170kilo is the sharper knife untill today, Piaggio at a dealer meeting in Monte Carlo showed this awesome Moto Guzzi California Prototype, that will be my next bike!!!! and it's air cooled....

Since the first snow mid December we have been dumped on with 60-80cm of the white stuff, Mosta Hill is covered knee deep and I have a big pine tree that snapped right off from the weight of the snow......

Everything is covered, the boat, my bicycle, the tractor and even Santa has snow up to his beard....

There are funny snow cones and snow hats on stuff in the yard....

The only place with a slight scent of summer is my workshop where I often spend nights having a beer or two with my toys....

Mosta Hill is covered with snow, it's wayyyy below freezing, Christmas is around the corner and here I'm sitting and longing for spring so I can start working on the Lil' Red Volvo. I have decided on front wheels, lights and some other stuff that will be Hot Rodded, some parts are on order from Mooneyes Sweden and So Cal Speed Shop. I can't wait untill the snow melts and spring rolls around, untill then i read Tractor, Traktor Power magazines and dream of when "I'm gonna drive my tractor all day long"....

The season of Advent is here, Mosta Hill is covered with 20cm of the white stuff, Holiday decorations are going up and again it's time to start drinking Glögg & Arga Tomten. The surroundings during the days are gorgeous, snow, sun and quite, at the moment the teperature is -15 Celscius and you can see every star in the Galaxy overhead, although sun, summer and bike riding feels like an eternity away but who cares, its Christmas för fan....

Having a loooong (cold and snowy) winter in front of me I have been researching as much as I can when it comes to Volvo T21 tractors, Volvo has this great site where you can find interesting info like, Volvo made 1800 T21 between 1946-1952 and my Lil' Red was made in 1948. There's a great company Olsson i Ellös that stock NOS parts for these tractors, workshop manuals and other literature can be either bought or downloaded, parts like exhaust manifolds are beeing made by small enthusiast companies but what impresses me the most is that after 62 years it still runs, It's older than I am for f*ck's sake....

Decisions, decisions, decisions, Lil' Red Volvo deserves a set of cool front rims, the tires will be a regular 3-rib tractor front tire but the rims??? Preferably a set of well worn 60-70's Slot Mags like Ansen or Hailbrands but I guess that's not doable since they cost an arm and a leg. There are a bunch of nice replicas available from the likes of Rocket Wheels, American Racing, Cragar but the best looking by far is the JD Wheels Halibrand Replica but they are new and look way to nice so I'll keep trawling Blocket for some nice worn Slot Mags from an old Volvo PV or Amazon. If you have two old Slot Mags 5x15" 5x4½" bolt pattern you don't need you know one who needs them. I guess by now you all have figured out in what direction Lil' Red Volvo is heading...

Today a new whip arrived at Mosta Hill. I have for quite some time been on the lookout for a tractor, living in the countryside a tractor is a must and the right look is verry important, nothing beats spending your Sunday sporting wellies, a John Deere cap, flannel shirt and Lee workpants driving a worn tractor. Ferguson TE 20 aka Grålle is by many here in Sweden considered THE Tractor to have but I have always liked a red tractor, a Swedish icon, a Volvo and the older the better. Searching Blocket for quite some time trying to find the right one and one who's seller would consider the Skoda PickUp as a trade has not been that easy but today a deal was made, the Skoda is off to a new home and I have a 1948 Volvo T21 that runs good and looks awesome with it's patina. Now I have to clean off years of oil & grime and then look for some cool stuff to give it that Hot Rod touch, stay tuned....

Today with sadness I watched the Skoda leave Mosta Hill. Almost exactly 5 years ago it was purchased to haul bikes and junk, over the years it has been turned into quite a cool ride, sadly rust has also taken a liking to it and for the last year it has only been waiting for a new owner. Just around the corner from Mosta Hill is Örsundsbro where once a year the largest one day fair in Sweden is held, the first sunday in October is Mickellsmäss, it's also the arrival of fall around here. As usuall the streets of Örsundsbro are full of stands selling everything from T-shirts to bear salami, this year the weather was on the side of the fair, sun but slightly cold and windy. I had a great time seeing friends all over the place and shopping....

Started out with at trip to visit Janne & Chrisse at Italia Bike Center in Arboga to have a look at some hot new Ducati products, leaving with a Ducati sweatshirt and belt, those guys could sell freezers to Eskimoes...Then it was back to Enköping and over to bro Tony at Six Pack Customs where he had gathered some of his (and my) friends and customers to celebrate one year at his new shop. Lucka of NCRacing was there with his latest build, a Suzuki 2011 European Drag Bike Championship contender and as usual was Mad Man Ove Åkermann there burning rubber with his 900hp small block 32 Ford Coupe, thanx Tony for a great show.....

Me and K decided to take a couple of days on Österlen, once there I found out there was a Ferguson TE20 Grålle Rally in Skåne Tranås that must not be missed. At Skåne Tranås we found a field of dreams, a field of Grålle tractors, restored, untoched with unbeleivable patina and even one with a home made wooden cab, cool.....
There were a bunch of differnt tractors there, one more awesome than the other....
But when it comes to tractors I prefer red heads and there's nothing like the Volvo T21, T24 and T25 series. I just have to get me one of these, preferably with serious patina, can you get more Hot Rod???There were also some nice bikes and mopeds attending....
...and cars including a Dodge Pick Up with some (painted on!?!?) patina and a personal plate with attitude....Cool stuff but what made the day was a Grålle stuffed with 12 cylinders of air-cooled Deutz motor, insane rear tires and an exhaust to be seen and heard!! The owner drove it around with an ear to ear grin, wonder why...Not really wanting to leave but all that's fun has an end, we then went shopping at a bunch of junk/vintage stores and this exercise bike caught my eye but cost as much as a decent T24, I'll have that instead...DP says: Nice weekend away from it all....

Started to surf for a cool looking motor for the boat, Stellan my ego mentor, World Champion Bike builder and all around bad influence commented that I must have a "tändkulemotor" to be cool enough but I remember those great looking black Mercury motors from my childhood, I just need one of those and I think I might just have found one. Well while surfing for pix of Mercury outboards from the 60-70's I found this one, if IKEA ever made a boat this would be IT...

Yesterday this little dinghy landed at Mosta Hill, now I have to start to scrape and varnish the little thing so next summer I can cruise Alsta Sjön on warm nights with a 6-pack at my side. Tomorrow is the 25'th anniversary of Mälaren Runt and as usual the big party is here in Enköping at Strul MCC, the night before it starts up slowly, tents and bikes arrive, beers are enjoyed and most of all friends from years and years meet up again for a couple of days of partying. Had a burger and a beer and shot some pix of what I liked, the Buell has to be the coolest ever.....

Had to get away for a couple of days, went to Österlen where my Mom spends the summer, sadly not the sunniest couple of days but the beach at Kyl Strandbad is always the place for some R&R, sun or not and with the help of TT it turned out great. Having Saturday off work and it beeing a clowdy but hot and humid day K sugested instead of going boating why not instead of constantly talking about it fixing the garden furniture. I have 3 vintage Grythyttan chairs I found in the woods 5 years ago, they had been painted white over and over again, it took us all day to remove rust and layers of paint on both the steel and wood, the steel was then painted Volvo BM (tractor) red and the wood left natural to age...

The fourth year running No Name MC Sweden in Strägnäs pulled of a great poker run with all the money going to Bröstcancer Fonden this year almost 25.000SEK was collected and we this like every year donated some stuff for their prices. It was a day with 30 degrees and a blazing sun but that did not stop some real nice bikes to show.....

For those who know me as The dude that never rides in the same helmet 2 days in a row it might change during this summer, this last week has been spent to 70% on 2-wheels and I have used a couple of different lids but I come back to this HJC Carbon lid, it don't only look sensational in it's raw carbon shell but the inside sun visor (inside a dark visor) just makes it the perfect summer helmet, ventilation is great, it's comfy and tight around the opening making it somewhat noice free, this helmet is #1 right now....

Left Mosta Hill early Saturday morning on the RSV4 R carving through the landskape on a rapidly warming day, twisty roads and blue fileds of Linum usitatissimum (flax) with an ear to ear grin.....Once i Nyköping and cheked in to Iron Horse MC Show I parked my babe next to a Ducati so they could have a day of chatting....

In the parking lots all kinds of bikes lined up....
And Rods....
Some really nice bikes were entered in the Show....
This little Italian beauty rocked my world....
But the best bike all day was this Suzuki, this thing is AWESOME....
Sadly when it was time to go home for some (unknown) reason the RSV4 refused to crank, dead battery?? what to do?? get on the phone and get someone to pick me up?? I went over to Harley Davidsson Sweden and their 18meter big rig filled with demo bikes and asked if they had some tools so I could remove the seat to have a look but they just said "don't worry we'll load it up among our demo bikes and take it back to Stockholm for ya, what bike do you want to take home???" What a Crew!!! I just had to swing my leg over a gassed up Harley V-Rod Muscle and get on my way home so now I owe these guys big time. THANX!!!!!

DP says: All in all a great day that without the Harley Crew could have been a stinker....

Who can take 24 hours off from 2-weels? I can't, I just had to get our company demo RSV4 on the road now that I have this week off from work (!?!?!?!?!). I will use it to go to the Iron Horse MC Show in Nyköping tomorrow and HELL what a bike this is!!!! Sure the XR1200 is cool, sounds awesome and have killer looks but, sorry L, the only thing it does better than the RSV4 is the self canceling turn signals, the RSV4 after 20km feels like home, we'll see after most of tomorrow in the seat if it still excites me as much....

Have had an eye on this thing since it first made the news, really like the look, Sportster motor is just right, it has potential, when I mentioned this to L the tall gentle giant at Pro Bike/Harley Sweden/Piaggio Sweden he just said: "why don't you take mine out for a while, I can't drive it right now anyway", said and done I have this week off work so yesterday I picked it up. L was a bit fuzzy on what's done to it but I see, Öhlins rears, Supertrapp pipes and a piece of carbon on the air intake. This is a sweet bike, does all the right things and looks sooooooo cool, only complaint might be it's one gear short but no biggie since the motor pulls from 1K to the redline like a bull. I spent 240km in the seat yesterday, more on the trip at another place later on, as I said 240km without a sore spot on my body must say something for the bike, lovely on the twisties, perfect for Italian driving in town, even feels smaller than my Monster, and man is it a stand out at the ice cream stand, THANX L!!!!!

Well not any Sunday but Svenska Nationaldagen (independence day) and as usual Strul Mcc held their Indian Swap and it had to be checked out, some cool stuff for sale and some real nice bikes showed....Good buddy and IMHO The Swedish Indian Guru Benny Åkerlind trying on some of his 3'd place Classic Bike winnings from yesterday at Custom Bike Show Norrtälje, I just love that bike....
Then it was out on Mälaren for some serious boating and Miller Time....
At the Swap I picked up a springer fork of unknown herritage and maybe, just maybe it will be fitted to LTO. A Sportster headlight was a good deal so Dee-Dee Ducati can get rid of that humungous Ducati headlight, hmmmm looks OK....

I have had the Easy Rider poster framed and on the wall for years, I have also met the man in his Venice house some years back and all those movies, Easy Rider, Blue Velvet, Inside man, The last ride, L.A.P.D To Protect and Serve, Ticker, Waterwold, True Romance, Colours, Hoosiers, Apocalypse Now, Rebel Without a Cause, I can go on for ever. Dennis will truely be missed by more people than me....

Dee-Dee Ducati is getting close to evolution 2010, still the exhaust has to be welded up, a new headlight decided on and all brake and clutch lines be changed to new black spun stainless TRW from the crew at HardParts. Helmet #63 came by way of Fritte Bergs Turken over at Garage24 a cool & light HJC FS-10 in raw carbon, Dee-Dee got some new cam belt covers and clutch cover also in raw carbon from Alien Moto, the new Mivv exhaust is also carbon so soon Dee-Dee Ducati is a primer & carbon stripper, my dream girl.......

Has hit again, this time dear friend Kerstin got the "bug" and after some Blocket.se surfing she found a sweet 1984 Vespa PK 125 Automatica that she bought and quickly named Tomaten, during the winter it has been fitted with a bunch of chrome, rims, wire hupcaps, rear rack, brake levers, mirrors and to give it that Cadillac feel a white seat and grips. Tomaten is here hangin' with my 2010 summer scooter a Piaggio X7 250ie, a great ride....

Dee-Dee Ducati is in serious need of an exhaust, last summer she was way to loud so I talked to the nice guys at Hard Parts, they supplied a Mivv RSV GP pipe in carbon and Chrisse at Italia Bike found me a used manifold, now Indian Guru Benny Åkerlind at Strul MCC will work his welding magic on it all....

YZ 490 Street Tracker is slowly coming together, I just picked up a set of Suzuki aloy rims 19" front & 18" rear that looks just right....

Just-4-Fun Piaggio Ciao is the latest bunch of parts to hit the workbench at Mosta Hill, one late night in the workshop looking at a Piaggio Ciao frame and a bunch of BMX parts got the creative juices flowing and now I'm just waiting for the relaced rear wheel, Ciao hub with 20" BMX rim to match the front BMX wheel, this thing will be a hooot....

LTO Project this is what it's all about, I just have to get this thing on the road, it's awesome and will be a monster to drive...
