MC Mässan Stockholm 2009...

Spent the last 4 days at Mc Mässan networking, talking to customers, looking at news and having a blast drinking beer with friends in the Motorrad VIP room (untill they ran out). Picked up a set of Supertrapp's and a XR seat for the Dee-Dee Ducati project and of course a helmet or two, I also checked out all the news from Ducati, BMW, Harley and all the others but my 2 loves of the show was a red Vespa 300 Super and the 69 Camaro blue with white rally stripes Victory Hammer S, another favorite was Svenska Scooter Klubben stand, real cool stuff.....

Dee-Dee Ducati....

Did a test fit of the new EBC XC discs and with just a minor fitment problem they worked out just fine and look real good, saved a bunch on unsprung weight compared to the stock Brembo discs. Next desisson is what brake pads to use but I think I'll stick with Carbone Lorraine, those have worked great for me on other bikes. I have also ordered a set of Titax clutch & brake levers, looks good and feels just soo right....

Dee-Dee Ducati....

Parts are rolling in and things are moving along quite nicely, thanx. Latest is a set of EBC's new XC discs front and rear (thanx Björn @ G-Partner), looking real good....

Dee-Dee Ducati....

Some pre x-mas gifts has arrived for the girl, Santa Claus red ingitionwires, Lucas style headlight, Cadillac 59 tailights and her verry own license plate. Colour has been decided on and a KBC helmet (thanx Peter @ PMC-Bike) has been painted and are now in the hands of Hot Rods by Max for some old school pinstriping in white & red. On the interesting side of the Dee-Dee Duacti project is that some people in The Swedish Ducati Club has taken serious offence to what I'm doing to an iconic motorcycle so much it has come down to personal attacks on the SDK Forum, what more can I say than For christ's sake it's just a motorcycle!!! Lighten up....

Dee-Dee Ducati....

Mattias "the Ducati wizard" came over this weekend to help me strip Dee-Dee down and give here a check up, turned out she's quite OK and just in need of a few things so here we go web crusing for Ducati parts in carbon fibre and other exotic materials. Some modifications I have clear in my head and parts are on the way but I have yet to decide on color and style of paint...

Dee-Dee Ducati....

Introducing Dee-Dee Ducati, a used & abused stripper, a theft recovery Monster 900 I picked up from an insurance company after she had spent the last 12 months under a three in the woods, she looks real sad and needs some serious TLC but this can turn into a real summer romance. Not really clear on what I'll do but some Hot Rodding and a seriously nasty paint job then we'll see....

The other day I got some helmets from Japanese Dammtrax, one GT, one Street and one Slim, cooler helmets are hard to find....

The baggage carrier....

Found one of those old baggage carriers that they used at railroad stations here in Sweden a looong time ago, it was full of bird poo, moss, rust and other strange stuff after many years behind a shed. Hmmm looks like something usable so I went to town with a wire brush removing years of crud, now it just needed some new tires and whith the wheels off I painted them Hot Rod Red, fitted chromed domed nuts and for the hell of it a set of 70's Metallflake grips and a Malteese Cross taillight. Turned out quite the lawn ornament.....

Hot Rod Smallframe...

The grind!!!! Started to do some sanding of the filled holes in the body and found that this thing does not have a square inch that's not dented, it has been repainted several times before, thick layers of bondo and even bathroom caulking has been used so now I'll sand it down to bare metall and leave it dented as is, let Max have at it with his pinstriping sword, paint the inside of the fender & engine compartment bright red or something and cover it all with Ankor Wax. I will move away slightly from the Salt Flats look and steer it more towards Hot Rod with a 39 Ford taillight, Moon Discs, Mexican blanket upholstery and some other Hot Rod touches.....

Issue 3 / 2008 of Swedish street fighter rag Bomber Magazine arrived today with the story Mange shot some weeks ago and I like. Now I'm forever labeled as a Moppe Fucko over here but who cares.....

Hot Rod Smallframe...

Yesterday I picked up the "tin" from Hot Rods by Max with all the holes and rust welded up so now all I have to do is grind & sand, grind & sand, grind & sand, put filler, more sanding, then a coat of fresh suede and soon it'll be rolling....

Enzo's back....

Mosta Hill house cat/mice hunter and 12 year companion Enzo Ferrari has luckily found his way home after 4 weeks away, he's most likely been locked up in someone's barn, shed or garage but the other day a scrawny Enzo came home again. He has been staying mostly inside since and I guess & hope he's learned a lesson. Not knowing what had happned with him I was almost sure I had seen him for the last time since the woods around Mosta Hill are full of fox, lynx, owls and other predators and he's never been away this long before....

LTO progress report...

Just so you all don't think I have given up on the madness. Project LTO has (sadly) had to take the backseat to a home improvement project at Mosta Hill that has sucked up both time & funds but it's not dead, I still have a crazy plan of driving it to the Strul MCC party at Mälaren Runt, I hope.....

It's been on and off the road so many times since it was first put together in the spring of 2002 I had almost lost interest in the girl but when Swedish streetfighter rag Bomber Magazine called and wanted to do a story on it I dusted off and fired her up, man is she sweet.... Paul "italjetdragster.com" Robinsson did a story for Twist & Go Magazine in 2002, it has also been featured in a Japanese Scooter Rag some years ago and I see pix of it on moped & scooter sites in all corners of the world so I guess it's safe to say, she's been around....

Hot Rod Smallframe...

I have always loved the look of an old school Vespa and the best proportions and purest look is the Vespa Smallframe so the latest addition at Mosta Hill is a 60's Vespa V50 that will be a Hot Rod / Salt Flats flavoured little terror. Tons of rust & dents has to be taken care of before suede paint and pinstriping goes on, with Moon Discs and a huge amount of attitude the motor must be slightly tuned to fit the look.....
